I AM ALIVE

Things crumble down which are not held,

A feeling so strong that you can’t comprehend its might,

Drowns your soul to the unknown depths.

You gasp for air and all you can manage to take

Is that which can’t last for long.

Shake, Shake, Shake, the world is coming to a stand still

Mountains crumbling down, volcanoes erupting

And all you knew of this world is slowly burning out.

The sky is filled with the heavy dark smoke,

Where are the beautiful stars, the moon and the emphatic beauty of the night?

The scent of fresh flowers and the scenery of the morning dew

reflecting on the rising sun is slowly fading from my memory

For what it is worth what is happening to me?

Am I becoming deaf, I can’t hear the beautiful song of the birds

mixed with the honks and beeps of motor vehicles.

Wait, where am I, how did I get here, can someone hear me?

Hhhmm, what’s the point for crying out for help?

I mean, everyone is with me where I am and no one seem to

Know what is happening leave alone care to help another.

The four walls are slowly caving in and the air is becoming limited with time.

I need to be alive, I have to stay alive, I got to be alive!

My highly stimulated self speaks out in fear of losing the life it has.

I got to be…. I need to be alive! I strive and struggle to reach at the top of the four walls

To get more air for it’s the only place I can get the air I need,

high above where I can see a bright light passing its rays of HOPE,

And that’s what I want to get to for my life depends on it.

As I reach the top, I start feeling changed, refreshed renewed and most of all

Breathing the sweet air that I have never breathed before

I feel so ALIVE!

Now it hits me that I was actually on my death bed called world systems

Struggling to make my life dependent on what I have achieved, worry,

Jealousy, what other people say about me, anger and a whole lot of unsatisfactory things.

Now that I have breathed the new air that has been breathed in me,

I am now aware what my life should be dependent on,

And it’s HIM who is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE, JESUS the savior of us all

Who in HIM everything was made and has the power to take or retain.

He has breathed a new LIFE in me for only with HIM the dead come to life

I AM ALIVE!  
(JOHN 14:6)

THE STEP

In life we are told that we are on a journey. I fully agree on this statement but what I mostly ask myself is, life is a journey to where? As we try to unravel the complexity of how we view our lives to be, we find ourselves on a search of a purpose, living the dream and others are just chasing after it, but for what? Anyways, that’s a discussion for another time but for now, I just want to focus on little or big things that make this “Journey” more interesting along with the twists it always has.

We are all humans I suppose and what we normally do is to connect and network with one another creating a wide web known as “Relationship”. It can be of any level or any kind dependent on how it is but the whole thing is still relationship. Some work well, others very well and also the opposite. Wherever we go or however we live we just can’t live all by ourselves. We connect and create relationships and networks with others. Relationships are there to put us together to connect and build us making us to be the best that we can be and so relationships are unavoidable.

How we relate with one another really impacts us and believe it or not influences how we are and carry ourselves both positively and negatively. And as we might already know there are relationships that are both short and long term, active and dormant. However, no matter how long or active the relationship is, it still has some great value and impact on our lives. 

For me, I like viewing my relationships like steps on a ladder and or on a stair case. When you step on one block/piece you are elevated from where you were before and you could have a better view on things in front of you. Relationships are like that, when you create a relationship with someone else, you are both on a piece of the stair case or the ladder, you bring your ideas, creativity, experiences, skills and you motivate one another to reach what lies ahead of you. The more you relate and create relationships with other people, you become more knowledgeable, skilled, connected and exposed. That’s the purpose of relationships.

In every relationship there are mistakes that will happen, corrections that will be made, promises that will be broken and also lessons that will be learnt. However we respond to this circumstances, is what determines how deep or shallow our relationships are. A step into the right direction is always better and more beneficial and the opposite is also true but whichever case, we learn from both experiences.   We never know what lies ahead of us or what will turn out in the direction we choose but that’s the beauty of this unpredictable life. 

So as you think of connecting, networking and even relating with someone today, ask yourself how are they impacting you and how are you impacting them. This is because relationships should be two way, you gain and you offer, give and take. This is how we are able to grow, learn and develop more skills in interacting and connecting with others. There is no reason for you to stay down, beating yourself saying that you are shy, you cannot connect with others or that you do not belong no. You have all that it takes to connect with anyone and believe me you might even be shocked with how good you can be. So take that bold step and connect with other people move out and move forward, STEP OUT!!

In a moment I seem to deem that I'm in a my own world
until am hit with reality that all ain't that silver and gold.
You came in, caved through the scars deep down,
hurting me more all in the name of making me better.
Now that you are gone, am left in a miserable state,
with open wounds that seem to take long to heal,
What remedy can I use to make this pain go away,
and make me feel better while I make my hay,
coz the sun still shines but not on my way?

I'm only human and am bound to fall,
I’m with heart and soul not dead like a wall,
I'll Keep living on with hauntings from the past,
not that they'll be part of me but I'll make them last,
not that I want them to, but because they seem to complete me.

PRAYER

Oh God Almighty, help me through this journey,

Help me walk in thine truth, help me speak in Wisdom,

and knowledge through your voice.

Lord be with me so that I don’t leave your ways,

For under your arms I’m safe and guarded

Guide me through the choices and decisions that I’ll make in my life.

For your thoughts are greater than my thoughts and your ways higher than my ways.

In your light I desire to shine and in your stature I desire to grow

Oh Lord my God my shield and protector

Protect me from my enemies and the traps they have put before me

May your Spirit help me accomplish the purpose you have for me

Give me peace of heart and of mind so that I can spread it wide for in you,

I find peace that surpasses human understanding.

May I be a blessing everywhere I go and to everyone I meet and talk to.

Be an encouragement to the weary and be a sign of miracle that would change their lives completely

I pray this in Jesus name, AMEN!

LOVE DEFINED

I was thinking through what this festive season really means and finally, I get a glimpse of it and understand it perfectly. I came to an understanding that this is the season where we get to be reminded of how God loves us.

We have been searching for a perfect definition and justification of LOVE in our own understanding and how we can operate in and out of it. We have gone round and round saying the same things about Love over and over. We tend to forget or force ourselves not to know where all the LOVE came from. What’s the authentic source of a so deeply sought feeling? A LOVE that has no stains, a LOVE that corrects, understands, forgives, cares and forgets. Believe me; the list for this PERFECT LOVE is long to even fit a thousand pages. A LOVE when realized by an individual, all else is just a vague impression. A LOVE that’s so pure that can makes one feel guilty when not responding to it, once you realize and get to taste it. A LOVE that is not ashamed or selfish, but gives its all.

A LOVE that has proven itself not once, twice or even a thousand times but each and every second you live. To bring the picture more closely, do this simple math, (Number of your years x number of days in a year x hours of a day x sixty seconds). That’s the number HE is proving to you that HE LOVES you no matter what and still counting.

I’m talking about the LOVE of God. God loved us before we became to existence. He loves us more than we can think of or imagine, such that He gave His only begotten Son to be a visible sign of how He loves us. He loves us in such a way that He didn't want us to perish in our own transgressions and yet you say you are not LOVED?

We get hurt when we pursue a vague love, trying to make it fit in our own definition and justification. We go on saying that we won’t love again when we get heart broken, but how do you think God feels when you break His heart, when you've done wrong or not giving Him what He deserves? He gets hurt but His love towards us is so much that He doesn't say He won’t love us again; but give us more reasons why He loves us.  He doesn't only say it in plain words but also shows it. He gives you life that is not guaranteed of having, to prove to you that He loves and wants you to make it right and develop a relationship with Him. What other proof do you need to realize that indeed you are LOVED?

                            

To make it short, as you think of ways to celebrate this year’s Easter, let it make a difference in your life by realizing and acknowledging His LOVE first. In as much as you will keep on searching for love, you will not get any perfect love like God’s love. There is a lot to say about His LOVE but in order to make sense to you, let this echo in your mind and heart the whole of this season.  

“For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)  

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." 

(John 15:13)

We often ask God “why am I not loved? “when we are heartbroken and the answer He constantly give us is Jesus’ picture on the cross saying I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH. Make a point to realize, acknowledge and reply to His LOVE as you also SPREAD LOVE TO EVERYONE!!
